Each and every episode of the third season of “Hannibal” gets better and better, and that’s why I’m sort of happy it’s the final season.
As a super fan of the series, I dread it overstaying its welcome and becoming one of those series that just spins its wheels because it can. Who knows, maybe a fourth season would be great? No matter, I refuse to let the news of Netflix and Amazon passing put me down.
With that said, is a feature film a good idea? Aside from the original “Red Dragon” adaptation Manhunter, The Silence of the Lambs is the only good movie, and it would be weird to see a different (adult) actor portraying Hannibal Lector on film.
Still, I’m never going to argue against about bout between Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen).
At the San Diego Comic-Con, where they premiered the below trailer that reveals this season’s incarnation of the Red Dragon, showrunner Bryan Fuller revealed a feature film continuation isn’t out of the cards. “We’re looking at the possibility of a feature,” he told the crowd.
As for the ongoing third season, Richard Armitage is set to appear as Francis Dolarhyde, aka the Red Dragon, Will Graham’s new nemesis after a three-year time jump.
Rutina Wesley (“True Blood”) is still to guest as Reba, with Nina Arianda (The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby) showing up as Will’s new wife, Molly.
Here’s the new promo.
