So, this is a new one for me but one that I’m really excited about!
We’ve teamed up with Cadabra Records to premiere “The Church”, which comes from a spoken word album based upon the works of macabre artist Lee Brown Coye, whose work was seen in “Weird Tales” and on the covers of many Arkham House Publishers novels.
Between the years of 1964 and 1970, Coye wrote several short stories for the “Mid-York Weekly” newspaper. These stories are being brought to life on an album titled Where Is Abby? & Other Tales. All stories are being read by Coye’s son, Robert Coye.
Cadabra Records label founder Jonathan Dennison states:
“The Church” makes Lee Brown Coye’s fascination with dreams and death evident. Coye was not a man of religion, but had an appreciation for it’s art and history. The church in this story is actually based on an existing church here in Syracuse, NY. “Where Is Abby? & Other Tales” takes you into the mind of one of the greatest illustrators of macabre and fantastic fiction. This is uniquely original material that takes you into a dark place, in old central New York. This should not be missed.
The album will be available for pre-order through the official Cadabra Records website and will ship out in early August. The first 125 vinyl orders receive a free art print signed by Robert Coye. Additionally, a very limited subscription to the Lee Brown Coye Collection will also be available, which includes exclusive color ways, T-shirt, and a hand screen printed poster, and more.
