Las Vegas’s Fright Dome Bringing ‘Friday the 13th’ To 4-D

Published

The Las Vegas haunted attraction Fright Dome has announced that this year, in partnership with SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment and Warner Bros. Consumer Products to create Friday the 13th 4-D: A Deadly 4-D Experience, which they claim will make them, “…the very first haunted attraction in the world to feature a 4-D show with the iconic brand.

Direct from the official press release:

Horror fans will experience another dimension of terror as Jason Voorhees, the world’s most recognizable horror icon, slashes his way through thirteen kills in thirteen minutes. Jason attacks anyone who enters the grounds of Camp Crystal Lake with every twist and turn. Heightened by hair-raising 3-D and startling special effects; this creepy 4-D experience delivers heart-stopping action. Guests will experience a sensory overload of fear as they come face-to-face with the machete-wielding killer.

The Adventuredome’s state-of-the-art, 4-D Special FX Theatre is a fully immersive experience with an array of in-theater special effects to complement the on-screen show. Seat vibrations, water sprays and other alarming horrors are designed to let guests feel like part of the grim action.

The way this is being pulled off sounds interesting but also somewhat lacking. If I go to a haunted house then I don’t want to sit in a theater, even if that theater basically “comes alive”. I want to actually go through the event myself. Have me sign a release form that gives permission for “Jason” to pick me up and take me away as though I’m one of the 13 “kills”. If I make it through the maze without getting caught, all the better!

More information about all the other attractions offered at the house can be found at the official website.

AreYouWatching.com: ‘The Watchers’ Interactive Website Is Full of Creepy Easter Eggs

Published

Are you watching? Ishana Night Shyamalan has clearly been paying attention to her father, M. Night Shyamalan. Not only is she following in his footsteps as a filmmaker, but she’s also embracing a similar mystique surrounding her work.

The new trailer for her feature directorial debut, The Watchers, gives viewers a taste of what’s in store. AreYouWatching.com has launched with even more clues.

Visit the site to join the mysterious creatures that lurk in the Irish forest as you observe a shelter. From the time the sun sets at 7:30 PM until it rises at 5:55 AM, four strangers played by Dakota Fanning, Georgina Campbell, Oliver Finnegan, and Olwen Fouere can be seen trapped inside.

You’ll find several interactive items. Click on the gramophone to set the mood with some spooky music. Tap on the birdcage to hear an ominous message from the parrot inside: “I’m going out, try not to die.” Press on the TV to watch clips from a fake reality show called Lair of Love. And if you tap on the window during the daytime … they’ll tap back.

There are also Easter eggs hidden at specific times. We’ve discovered three: a disorienting shot of Fanning’s character’s car at 5:52 PM, a closer view of the captives at 11:11 PM, and a glimpse of monitors at 12:46 AM. Let us know if you find any more in the comments…

The Watchers opens in theaters on June 14 via New Line Cinema. Ishana Night Shyamalan writes and directs, based on the 2022 novel of the same name by A.M. Shine. M. Night Shyamalan produces.
