Rumors are swirling that the next battle between kaiju and giant robots is being put on hold. According to Latino Review, Pacific Rim: Maelstrom, which is the subtitle of the sequel, is not going to shoot this November as was originally planned. Rather, shooting is being moved into an undetermined 2016 date. It’s uncertain how this will affect the expected release date of August 4th, 2017.
Guillermo del Toro returns to direct this sequel, which supposedly takes place a few years after the events in the first film.
