‘Hardcore’ Deal is Going to be Explosive

Deadline is reporting that STX Entertainment, Lionsgate and Universal are still fighting it out for a worldwide rights dealing that has one bid nearing eight figures (10 MILLION) for the pic that premiered this past weekend in Midnight Madness at the Ryerson Theatre.

This had as many as six players in the mix for the past several days, and a decision is imminent, adds the site. The deal calls for a wide theatrical release north of 1,000 theaters.

In Hardcore, “Resurrected with no recollection of his past, a cyborg named Henry (the audience’s POV) and his ally, Jimmy (Sharlto Copley, ‘District 9′) must fight through the streets of Moscow in pursuit of Henry’s kidnapped wife in the world’s first action-adventure film to be entirely shot from the first person perspective.
