Footage from the New York Comic Con panel for “The X-Files” has been uploaded and shows creator Chris Carter and stars David Duchovny and Mitch Pileggi explaining what we’re going to see.
Carter tells the crowd that the six-episode limited series will feature four stand-alone episodes that will be bookended by mythology episodes. The stand-alone episodes will feature directors such as Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan, and James Wong. Additionally, “The Lone Gunmen”, the trio of conspiracy geeks that appeared in several episodes of the show, are also confirmed to be back.
The trio also discussed what makes “The X-Files” relevant in today’s society where fears of governmental snooping are at an all time high.
All four clips, which total to about 5-minutes of your time, can be seen below.
In the opening episode, Mulder and Scully take on a case of a possible alien abductee. The all-new episodes will feature appearances by guest stars, including Joel McHale (“Community”), Robbie Amell (“The Flash”), Lauren Ambrose (“Dig,” “Six Feet Under”), Annabeth Gish (“The Bridge”), Annet Mahendru (“The Americans”), Rhys Darby (“Flight of the Conchords”), Kumail Nanjiani (“Silicon Valley”) and William B. Davis, who reprises his role as “Cigarette Smoking Man.”
“The X-Files” returns on Sunday, January 24th, 2016 at 10pm EST and once again the following night at 8pm EST.
