Dante “Shagfoal” Video Premiere (Exclusive)

Published

on

We’ve teamed up with Colombian rock band Dante to bring you the exclusive music video premiere for “Shagfoal”, a dark and eerie blues-inspired track. The video is dark, it’s twisted, and it’s got a delightfully sinister atmosphere that makes it perfect for this site.

Vocalist Kami Rayne tells BD:

Shagfoal is the continuation of a song from our first album that was called ‘Hellhounds’. A blues number, the name ‘shagfoal’ came from a novel that Alan Moore wrote called ‘The Voice of the fire’ the video is loosely based on a short story from that book and also a tribute of sorts for the man himself. The song was influenced by dark blues songs from Johnny Cash to Danzig & we wanted to mix that eery feeling of witchcraft & old lore with the crudeness of old blues.

You can see the video below as well as check out some behind-the-scenes photos.

You can order We Are Hellhounds: Gunblade Blues, Vol. 1 via iTunes or via CD Baby.

Director Luis Fernando Mora explains:

When I first talked to Dante the idea was really clear, we wanted to burn a witch! That said I wanted to keep it as simple as possible and focus on how it would enhance the power of the song and effectively tell the story we wanted to tell. For this we used the image of Robert Johnson working as the storyteller and who doesn’t seem to take any sides, not for the witches or the group doing the burning.
