When Bloober Team announced their plans to bring their surprise indie horror hit Layers of Fear to Xbox One Preview — Microsoft’s version of Steam Early Access — later this month, they were just about finished with it. Today, the developer narrowed down that nebulous October release window to this Friday, October 23.
Layers of Fear is a first-person survival horror game inspired by 19th century art that follows a mad painter who’s only trying to finish his masterpiece. In it, you’ll “uncover the visions, fears and horrors that entwine the protagonist and finish the masterpiece he has strived so long to create.”
Sunrises and sunsets are literally the only thing I can paint. I once tried to broaden my horizons by trying my hand at a peacock, but in the end it looked more like something you might expect to see fly from a clown’s nose after a nasty sneeze. Any of you talented with a brush and easel?
