Artist J.J. Lendl is one of those passionate souls who got an idea, an itch if you will, and created something amazing with it. His idea was to create a poster for each episode of the renowned sci-fi/thriller series “The X-Files” for one month. But as time went on, he couldn’t stop and he’s been creating a poster each day for quite a while now, coming up with some innovative and wildly imaginative pieces, each with their own inspirations and visual theme. It’s really quite marvelous!
Lendl explains, “What started as a month-long art project, in which I created a theatrical type poster for one episode of The X-Files each day, has turned into an ongoing art activity. Send in the name of your favorite X-Files episode and I’ll create a unique movie poster based on that episode’s themes, tones and influences.”
This pet project ended up paying off big time for Lendl as he announced recently that he struck a deal with 20th Century Fox to create officially licensed prints. The sad part, he writes, is, “…that I won’t be sharing new posters for now. But rest assured, you’ll be seeing posters for season 7 and beyond in the coming months as they are announced for sale.”
