‘Perception’ Footage Gets Lost in a Spooky Mansion

The Deep End Games was founded by former BioShock and Dead Space developers who wanted the creative freedom to realize their vision for a uniquely terrifying gaming experience that wouldn’t be possible outside of self-publishing. Perception is just strange enough to pair nicely with crowdfunding, and the $168k the studio raised on Kickstarter in June is proof of that.

I quite like the idea of exploring a Spencer Mansion-esque manor filled with deadly traps and assorted spookery, and outside of Pulse — another product of crowdfunding — there aren’t many video games that star blind characters, much less use them as leads.

This eleven minute-long gameplay video should give you a decent idea of what this game has to offer. Perception is expected to release on PC this summer.
