Another Awesome ‘The Other Side of the Door’ Poster From the Dude!

The Other Side of the Door

From producer Alex Aja and 20th Century Fox comes The Other Side of the Door, which stars “The Walking Dead’s” Sarah Wayne Callies, as well as Wrong Turn and May fav Jeremy Sisto.

The Other Side of the Door is directed by indie filmmaker Johannes Roberts (F, 47 Meters Down, Storage 24) and opens March 4, 2016.

In the film, “Grieving over the loss of her son, a mother struggles with her feelings for her daughter and her husband. She seeks out a ritual that allows her say goodbye to her dead child, opening the veil between the world of the dead and the living. Her daughter becomes the focus of terror. She must now protect against the evil that was once her beloved son.

Bloody Disgusting has a third alternate one-sheet, created by fan-fav Tom Hodge (aka The Dude Designs; Hobo With a Shotgun, The Innkeepers,The Editor, Wolfcop, The Heat and Spy).

“I have had the pleasure of producing not just one poster, but three alternative artworks for The Other Side of The Door,” Hodge tells us, while also sharing the shadow-y piece of art you’ll see below.

“I was charged with the task of exploring a more classic tone, to create designs that could convey a different visual take on the film,” he adds. “I was also given quite a free reign to go crazy and produced around sixteen concepts. Fox then selected three different designs to produce as final pieces.

“I do consider classic posters (and video covers) to be an art form all of their own. Film posters were our art growing up, don’t get me started on why Daimen Hirst can throw paint on a spinning canvas and that can be hanging in an art gallery, but not the original and beautiful 1931 Dracula poster. Film art particularly horror (I’m a confirmed ghost story and horror film addict) I find to be one of the most creative and inspiring genres to work in. It is such a visually rich world that is unique and darkly creative unlike any other.

“So, I am lucky to be able to explore film as art through my work and be able to create poster designs like the ones I used to find so captivating as a kid. Hopefully I’m helping to keep the art form alive to some degree and inspiring/scaring some kids again in the process.”
