Which ‘Resident Evil’ Game(s) Have You Played?
All this Resident Evil news got me thinking about the games in the series that I have yet to even try. I’ve been a fan of the series longer than I haven’t at this point, but I still haven’t gotten around to playing most of the mobile entries, like Dead Aim, Deadly Silence and The Mercenaries 3D.
And this isn’t about the quality of the game, or which one is “best”. This is about seeing which standalone Resident Evil, i.e. no ports or remasters, is the most-played game in the series among you, our fair and gentle readers. So in the poll below, let me know which game(s) you’ve played, and feel free to offer up some details in the comments. And if you’ve played at least 2/3 of them, or about 14 of the 22 games on this list, make sure you include that in your comment so we can have you wear a scarlet ‘R’ on your chest.
Don’t worry, it’s not like we’re going to use it to identify you for Capcom’s death squads — they all dress exactly like the HUNK, in case you were curious — because that would be wrong.
Regarding the Resident Evil news I mentioned earlier, if you missed it, it appears we may be hearing from Resident Evil 7 at E3 next month, and in addition to that, it sounds like Capcom’s very interested in continuing the (fantastic) Revelations series.

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78
In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).
Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.
While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.
The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.
Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.
We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
