Some Pretty Awesome ‘Ghostbusters’ Set Polaroids Just Hit eBay

Published

Sitting on a bunch of money? We’ve got just the thing for ya.

The 1984 Ghostbusters is unquestionably one of the most iconic and beloved films of all time, so naturally, countless books, websites, and documentaries have chronicled nearly every step of the production process. You’ll find tons of behind the scenes photos all across the net… but we’ve just come across some vintage Polaroids that even the biggest diehards have probably never seen.

During a recent adventure down the eBay rabbit hole I stumbled upon the account RareVintageShirts, and it wasn’t the shirts that caught my eye. At the time of writing this post, the seller is parting with eight Polaroid photos that were taken on the set of Ghostbusters. He notes that they’re from the collection of Joe Viskocil, who was the film’s effects supervisor.

The photos were taken in early 1984 for effects, wardrobe, and continuity purposes, and they mostly showcase the various props and costumes that helped bring Slimer and Stay Puft to life. The prices range between $112 and $314, but even if you can’t afford to shell out that kind of dough, just looking at them should put a smile on your face. They damn sure put one on mine.

Check out the Polaroids below and visit RareVintageShirts for more!

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.

Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.

THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
