New to Blu – Week of 1/24/2017
Each week here at Bloody Disgusting we like to highlight some of the new Blu-ray releases hitting shelves across the world. Please note that this isn’t every release for the week, just a few of the ones that jumped out at us.
Very, very light weak for Blu-ray releases but still some good stuff to add to your collection! Nicolas Cage has a new movie out where he does battle with sharks which sounds pretty amazing. And as much as I love Nicolas Cage that’s only my third favorite release of the week. The real big ones are Arrow Video’s release of The Black Society Trilogy and the Lionsgate release of The Man Who Fell To Earth. You’re going to want to make sure you get both of those!

Brazilian Werewolf Fable ‘Good Manners’ Finally Gets Physical Media Release
One of contemporary horror’s best werewolf movies is 2017’s Good Manners, and it’s finally set to receive a proper physical media release.
Icarus Films is partnering with OCN Distribution to unleash a new Blu-ray that’s now available to preorder via Vinegar Syndrome. and with a limited edition slipcover.

Good Manners is the second collaboration between filmmakers Juliana Rojas and Marco Dutra, who write and direct. Zama’s Rui Poças‘ cinematography captures this unique werewolf tale described as “Disney meets Jacques Tourneur.”
Our own Trace Thurman wrote in his review, “With Good Manners, Rojas and Dutro have made one of the best werewolf movies ever made. That they are able juggle commentaries on racism and classism while still managing to tell two deeply affecting love stories is remarkable.”
