Pumpkinhead sure does like his booze.
As much as we’d love to see all of our favorite horror icons share the screen in one epic mash-up movie, we just have to make peace with the fact that it’s never going to happen. Aside from rare “versus” films like Freddy vs. Jason and this year’s Sadako vs. Kayako, bringing together franchise stars is near-impossible due to those series’ being owned by different companies… but nobody can stop fans from dreaming. And when horror fans dream, they dream big.
Carson Griffin and his wife Teri run the company Sea Griffin Creations & Productions, and they’ve spent the past few years on a passion project titled Leatherface’s Pool Party. As Teri explained to us, the project originally started out as a song, but back in 2012 they gathered together all their horror action figures and decided to turn that song into a stop-motion music video.
The end result? The ultimate horror party.
In Teri’s own words:
My husband Carson Griffin wrote a song for our old band in 2010 called “Leatherface’s Pool Party” which was about exactly how it sounds: Leatherface throwing a pool party with every horror icon as a guest. Back in 2012 we decided to build a set in our garage, fill it with our horror toys, and attempt a stop motion version of this song.
We finally had a chance to sit down and go through the footage and put a rough version together with the song!
