Filming has already wrapped on Lionsgate’s franchise return Saw: Legacy, and we’re only now starting to learn the first details about it. Last week, we told you that Laura Vandervoort (“Bitten”) and Hannah Anderson (“Lizzie Borden Took an Ax”) are part of the eighth installment’s cast, set for release on October 27th, and today we’ve got some more casting news for ya.
Deadline reports that Mandela Van Peebles will star alongside Vandervoort and Anderson. The actor, who starred in last year’s “Roots,” is the son of Mario Van Peebles.

Saw: Legacy was written by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, the duo behind Piranha 3D, Piranha 3DD, and Sorority Row. In the director’s chairs were the Spierig brothers, Peter and Michael, who brought us Undead, Daybreakers and Predestination.
Franchise staples Mark Burg and Oren Koules returned to produce.
