Pay close attention to your television this Sunday night, Creepshow fans.
This week’s brand spankin’ new episode of “The Walking Dead” will be the 19th directed by makeup effects master Greg Nicotero, and if there’s one thing we’ve learned to expect from Nicotero-directed episodes it’s zombies that pay tribute to iconic characters from our favorite horror movies. Sunday night’s episode will be no exception, as Nicotero just teased on Instagram.
He wrote:
Maybe a “Creepshow” tribute in this upcoming episode of “The Walking Dead”. My 19th episode as director. See you Sunday! All Rick, All Michonne, All Walkers!
Nicotero also posted an image of the zombie in question, which is clearly based on the corpse seen on the original Creepshow poster. As we told you earlier in the week, a portion of the episode will put Rick and Michonne inside an abandoned carnival/amusement park, so it was the perfect setting for Nicotero to work in a tribute to Creepshow‘s ticket-taking dead guy. Too cool.
