When it was announced that FX had renewed “American Horror Story” through 2019, creator Ryan Murphy spilled the beans that a future season (likely eight or nine) will mash together the worlds of “Murder House” and “Coven”; as we’ve already seen, every season takes place in one big ole shared universe. So which characters from those seasons will be returning?
At Paley Fest over the weekend, as reported by Deadline, series regular Sarah Paulson was asked which “American Horror Story” role she’d like to someday reprise, and her answer seemed to hint at the upcoming crossover season that Murphy teased. Paulson answered:
Cordelia Foxx, because I would like to see her getting her powers as the Supreme. Maybe we’ll get to see that.
Murphy’s recent tease lines up with Paulson’s comments:
It’s a character from season 1 that will be thrust into the world that you are left with at the end of Coven, which is sort of like the male/female/witch academy. And then all of those characters will intertwine, which is confusing because some of them are from seasons 1 and 3. Like, Sarah Paulson will probably be playing 18 characters.
Of course, it’s entirely possible that Cordelia Foxx will appear in this year’s Season 7, inspired by the 2016 presidential election. In the “AHS” universe, stranger things have happened.
Season 7 begins filming in June. Paulson and Evan Peters will return.
