Last year, Chiller debuted their first ever horror series, “Slasher”, which Luiz said impressed with more drama than kills. The psychological thriller introduced a brand slasher, the Executioner (pictured), and starred Katie McGrath (Jurassic World, Dracula, Merlin) as Sarah Bennett, a young woman who returns to the small town where she was born, only to find herself the centerpiece in a series of horrifying copycat murders based on the widely known grisly killings of her parents.
Orangeville broke the news this past week that filming is currently underway for the second season in their community. Toronto-based Shaftesbury Films is behind the eight-episode horror-style television thriller with actress Leslie Hope, best known for her role as Jack Bauer’s wife, Teri Bauer, on the television thriller “24” part of the cast. No other casting has been revealed at this time, but expect a 2018 release for the follow-up season.
Since “Slasher” is an anthology series, however, the second season being filmed locally is not connected to the first, explains the site. In the second season, a group of young adults return to the summer camp they attended to cover up an accidental crime they committed five years earlier.
The group returns to find “new age” modernists living at the camp and later discover the body left behind by their accidental crime is missing. The situation then turns deadly as someone in their group is killed.
