Tomorrow is ‘Ghostbusters’ Day and Paul Feig is “Unveiling Something Fun”
Ecto Cooler better be coming back. Forever.
The original Ghostbusters hit theaters on June 8th, 1984, which has resulted in the 8th of June being appropriately christened Ghostbusters Day. The first ever celebration took place last year, ahead of the release of Paul Feig’s franchise reboot, and it included the original and reboot casts appearing together on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” as well as the original movie being re-released into theaters, among other fun happenings.
What’s in store for Ghostbusters Day this year? Paul Feig just teased over on Twitter that he’ll be “unveiling something fun,” though he was quick to clarify that it’s “smaller fun” than the announcement of a sequel to last year’s reboot. It’s likely that he’ll never get the chance to make a sequel, but one has to wonder what he’s got up his sleeve for tomorrow’s celebration.
In addition, a live Q&A with Ernie Hudson and Ivan Reitman will be held on Facebook tomorrow at 11am PST, along with the trailer premiere for Ghostbusters VR Act 2: Showdown. Giveaways and other fun surprises are also in store for all of us GhostHeads, so you’re going to want to keep your eyes locked on the GhostCorps Facebook page.
Could we finally see the long lost, never before seen “Fort Detmerring” deleted scene tomorrow, as teased earlier this year? Here’s hoping!

Keanu Reeves Describes Untitled Time Loop Thriller from Director Tim Miller as ‘Groundhog Day’ With Sharks
At one point known as Shiver, Tim Miller‘s (Deadpool, Terminator: Dark Fate) next movie doesn’t yet have a title, but star Keanu Reeves offers a very intriguing tease this week.
Chatting with Collider, Reeves explains what drew him to the mysterious upcoming project from director Tim Miller. He tells the outlet, “Sharks. Time machine. Groundhog Day.”
That lines up with early plot details that surfaced earlier this year, with the film said to center on a “smuggler in the middle of a deadly double-cross while on a job in the Caribbean Sea.”
That synopsis continued, “Surrounded by bodies, hostile mercenaries, and bloodthirsty sharks, the man finds himself in a time loop and scrambling to break the cycle.”
Callie Cooke (“The Stranger”), Stefan Kapičić (Deadpool), Steven Waddington (Sleepy Hollow), Nicholas Duvernay (“The White Lotus”), Abraham Popoola (Cruella), Anastasia Safonov, and Bobby Holland Hanton (Thor: Love and Thunder) also star.
Ian Shorr (Splinter, Infinite) penned the screenplay for the sci-fi thriller, which had previously been described as having shades of Edge of Tomorrow and The Shallows.
Stay tuned for more on the untitled Warner Bros. project.
