With AMC’s The Walking Dead going through changes, it seems appropriate that Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead series reach its conclusion with The Walking Dead: The Final Season. Today, Telltale have revealed the release date for the first of four episodes to be August 14th, as well as the trailer for the first episode. Pre-orders for the first episode start this Friday (June 8th), with the game being available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One (with Nintendo Switch availability later this year).
The story for this season is as follows: After years on the road, facing threats from both the living and the dead, Clementine may have finally found rest from her journey in the form of a secluded school. But protecting it will mean sacrifice. Clementine must build a life and become a leader while still watching over AJ, an orphaned boy and the closest thing to family she has left.
Gameplay-wise, this season will feature a new over-the-shoulder camera system, greater freedom to explore detailed environments, and scenes with unscripted combat to inject that tension we all love. As for the graphics, the game sports an all-new “Graphic Black art style”, as well as supporting 4K resolution and high dynamic range on compatible devices.
