Here’s a special Halloween treat just for Bloody Disgusting readers!
Everyone at BD is incredibly proud to be teaming up with staff and students from George A. Romero’s Filmmaking Program and Tom Savini’s Special Make-Up Effects Program to present a new 6 episode web series, titled Flicker. The series is a modern take on the classic silent serials of the past with a true horror show twist. Oldboy meets Lon Chaney.
The series was developed as a student production from George A. Romero’s Filmmaking Program and Tom Savini’s Special Make-Up Effects Program at Douglas Education Center, a career school near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The students worked under the guidance of industry pros, including series directors Tom Savini, Tina Romero (daughter of director George A. Romero) and Robert Tinnell.
“The episodes are designed to be small, ‘bite-sized’ chunks of horror, wherein we follow the exploits of the Flicker, who is systematically murdering a number of individuals who are themselves up to no good. It will be quite some time until viewers learn the identity of the Flicker and what is driving him. But we know – and look forward to continuing his story until it reaches its shocking conclusion,” said Flicker creator, Robert Tinnell. Tinnell is the director of George A. Romero’s Filmmaking Program in addition to being a feature film writer/director and the author of several horror graphic novels.
