A New ‘Darksiders’ Game Will Be Revealed at E3 That Takes the Franchise in a Fresh Direction
THQ Nordic is set to reveal a new entry in the Darksiders game series at E3 according to an E3 Coliseum listing.
The listing for a panel about the series’ inception and its future notes that a new game will be revealed at E3, and that it will be somewhat different from previous entries.

DARKSIDERS: ACTION ADVENTURE EVOLVED
A discussion about the inception of the Darksiders universe and where it’s headed next. This panel will coincide with the E3 2019 unveil of a brand new Darksiders game that takes the franchise in a fresh direction. This is a panel discussion about the art and business of creating and maintaining an action adventure franchise rich in-game and corporate lore.
E3 Coliseum will be a daily show at E3, hosted by Geoff Keighley, that will feature insight from developers on past and future projects and topics related to the big gaming trends. The Darksiders segment is set to air on Thursday, June 13
After the decent, but choppy Darksiders 3, it may be wise to do something new with the Darksiders franchise.
In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).
Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.
While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.
The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.
