After teasing fans for a follow-up to Lies of P (twice, in fact), NEOWIZ and NOUGH Studio have apparently dropped another tidbit for fans. Spotted by FRVR, the developer has filed a new trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office website that has some fans speculating that NEOWIZ is ditching the story of “Pinocchio” for “The Wizard of Oz” for its next title.
The filing, which is dated September 10, is simply the phrase ‘Wonders of O’. As for what ‘O’ could mean, fans have pointed to the ending for Lies of P (which, if you haven’t played it yet, spoiler alert) as evidence that it’s referring to Oz.
Lies of P ends with an alchemist called Paracelsus saying he plans to return to Krat to find someone named Dorothy. The game then cuts to someone walking on a rooftop in Krat, who clicks their heels three times a la Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz”.
This is all pure speculation, as neither NEOWIZ or NOUGH Studio have elaborated on their next title outside of that it would be a Survival Horror game, and whether it would in fact be a sequel to Lies of P. However, as mentioned above, the devteams have been dancing around it, rather than outright saying.
Lies of P is currently available on PC via Steam, the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch 2.
