[R.I.P.] ‘High Tension’ Actor Philippe Nahon Has Passed Away at 81

We’ve learned the sad news that accomplished French actor Philippe Nahon passed away over the weekend. Nahon had been battling an illness, which was aggravated by COVID-19.

The actor was 81 years old.

Philippe Nahon is most known to horror fans as “Le tueur” (The Killer) in Alexandre Aja’s High Tension, one of the more memorable slasher maniacs in the last several decades.

Nahon notably starred in Gaspar Noé’s films Carne, I Stand Alone and Irreversible. He also appeared in Christophe Gans’s Brotherhood of the Wolf and Fabrice du Welz’s Calvaire.

Other films on Nahon’s lengthy resume include horror movies Humans, The Pack, Cannibal, Horsehead and Nothing Sacred, as well as The Last Deadly Mission and Spielberg’s War Horse.

Philippe Nahon is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Weissman.
