Trace and I are repeatedly asked to address A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge on the Horror Queers podcast, despite covering it six months ago in our written column. Last month we chatted with the guys at Consequence of Sound when their Halloweenies podcast happened to be covering the film for their March episode. It was a great opportunity to provide a (mostly) serious perspective on this very, very queer horror film.
Still Trace and I couldn’t help but feel that we had left some jokes about the film on the table, which is why we jumped at the chance to join co-hosts Patrick Hamilton and Gena Radcliffe to guest on the most recent episode of the Kill By Kill bi-weekly podcast to tackle the balls-iest middle section of the film. Once again it’s the greatest horror comedy podcast crossover EVER!
Each episode of Kill By Kill unpacks all the gory details of horror cinema’s least discussed component: the characters. First Patrick and Gena tackled all of the Friday the 13th entries and now they’re up to the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise! Their mission: to detail each hack, slash & decapitation in the hopes that a sleeper’s untimely end is just the beginning of the jokes they can make about them.
