After a few weeks of screening very different “family” films such as Jaume Collet-Serra‘s Orphan and Laika’s ParaNorman, last week Trace and I kicked off “Femme Fatale” month (aka August) with Takashi Miike’s controversial Audition.
This week, we grab Dani Ryan venture into the Mid-West to discuss Tyler MacIntyre‘s 2017 meta-horror comedy, Tragedy Girls. The film is about two high school best friends, Sadie (Brianna Hildebrand) and McKaylah (Alexandra Shipp), who are willing to murder in order to become social media phenoms. Using local predator Lowell (Kevin Durand) as a patsy, the girls promptly dispatch anyone who threatens their popularity…or just pulls focus away from their online presence.

After so many months, the boys are ready to embrace facts: they are social media darlings and the world needs to know it! With Dani Ryan along for the ride, the trio “Like and Fave” Tyler MacIntyre’s astute meta-comedy about two aspiring serial (or is it spree?) killers on the cusp of graduating high school with a body count.
