Screambox has announced today that Your Dearest Darkest Friend, a new darkly whimsical talk show hosted by horror stalwart Ted Raimi, has officially wrapped production.
In the half-hour series, Raimi — AKA the Mixologist of Macabre — will interview various horror luminaries while they imbibe in his expertly crafted drinks.
Set inside a frightfully fantastical home, Your Dearest Darkest Friend brings together some of the greatest minds in modern horror for intimate, unexpected and delightfully offbeat conversations. Raimi gets behind the personas to reveal the people, stories and inspirations behind the genre’s most memorable nightmares—all while his haunted puppet pals add their own mischievous touch to the proceedings.
The series is currently preparing for its debut, with the official launch date and guest lineup to be announced soon.
Your Dearest Darkest Friend is produced by Tony Wash, Charlie Queen, Lauren Leshansky and Ted Raimi.
“Yes, it’s weird. Truthfully, it’s a very odd concept for a talk show. We didn’t care: We all agreed it would appeal to the crowd we all knew would dig it – horror fans,” Ted Raimi said.
“The concept for this show came straight from Ted’s quirky yet twisted mind, and it was truly a joy to bring to life on screen. It’s a blend of genres and formats that feels really fresh while still having a classic quality, with its influences firmly rooted in some of the most beloved horror, talk show, and comedy touchstones of the last century. There is something here for every horror fan to enjoy,” Charlie Queen added.
A genre staple, Raimi’s credits include Evil Dead II, Candyman, The Grudge, The Midnight Meat Train, Darkman, Wishmaster, Shocker, Intruder, Blood Rage, The Quarry, “Twin Peaks,” “Ash vs. Evil Dead,” “Creepshow,” and “Masters of Horror.”
