How many of you remember those books that would dissect buildings, ships, airplanes, submarines, etc…? I had one of those books and I would stare at it for hours, mesmerized by the incredibly complex and intricate ways everything worked together. It taught me that there is so much more going on than meets the eye that I need to keep a very open mind so as to try and navigate my way through all the various events that led up to a circumstance. I find that doing so grants me empathy and an ability to discuss nearly anything from better perspectives.
That being said, I don’t know how looking at the internal organs of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man can help me be a better person but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to examine it with a certain sick pleasure! It’s all thanks to artist Nychos and his fascinating way of taking various geek and real life icons and then dissecting them in horrific yet hypnotizing ways. We’ve got a gallery of several examples below but more can be seen via his Tumblr.
Nychos’ art can be seen at the Jonathan Levine Gallery in New York City though July 23rd. More information can be found here.
Cheers to Imgur user HeroWeDeserve for bringing this to my attention.
