Whereas former rival company WCW used to celebrate Halloween by going all out with the kickass event known as Halloween Havoc, WWE has never adopted the pay per view event for itself, instead celebrating Halloween each year with the Hell in a Cell event. The event has been taking place annually since 2009, normally in October but this year in September.
The concept of the event is that a handful of key matches take place inside the titular Hell in a Cell, a 24-foot-high roofed cell structure surrounding the ring and ringside area. A fitting match for the Halloween season, given its typically home to barbaric brutality befitting its name.
This week, WWE has unleashed the official poster for Hell in a Cell ’18, advertising the night’s big Universal Championship match between champion Roman Reigns and challenger Braun Strowman. We wanted to share the art with you both because it’s wonderfully awful and looks like a bad horror flick, with Reigns and Strowman Photoshopped into demonic beasts.
