on

Ahead of the first episode dropping on March 19, the podcast Black Velvet Fairies has been officially announced with an audio trailer this afternoon, and you can listen below.

Black Velvet Fairies comes from Mike MonelloGregg Hale, and Eduardo Sanchez, the minds behind the found footage horror classic The Blair Witch Project.

From podcast publisher PRX, Black Velvet Fairies is the audio diary of Lucy Verdell, a woman whose grandmother leaves her four black velvet paintings of fairies. But not twinkly, little sprites – these are grim warriors, kings and queens.

As she investigates her family’s history with the artwork, disturbing dreams and unexplained encounters pull Lucy toward a dark and dangerous fairy world that some believe is real.

Black Velvet Fairies will be available free on demand across all major podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, and Overcast, with new episodes of the 13-episode series released on Tuesdays from March 19 through June 11.

Black Velvet Fairies is part of a larger multimedia universe titled Emerald Anvil, which you can learn more about here.

The creative team behind this one also includes executive producers Mark Ordesky — executive producer of The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, The Golden CompassInkheart, and more — and Jane Fleming (The Quest), as well as Writer/Director Jamie Nash (Altered) and editing and sound design by Jordan Miller (Camp Nightmare).

Gretchen Lodge (Lovely Molly) and Chris Osborn (Exists) star in the podcast series.

“We continually seek opportunities to evolve the fantasy genre. Black Velvet Fairies is a creepy, X Files-like rabbit-hole into a new kind of fairy-world. A setting that melds fantasy and the supernatural,” said Executive Producers Mark Ordesky and Jane Fleming.

Daryl Dixon’s Dog from “The Walking Dead” Has Passed Away

Published

The real-life canine who portrayed Daryl Dixon’s (Norman Reedus) pet “Dog” on “The Walking Dead,” a Belgian Shepherd whose real name was Seven, has sadly passed away this week.

Variety notes that Seven “appeared in 26 episodes, including the series finale.”

Norman Reedus has shared a handful of behind the scenes photos to his Instagram (@bigbaldhead), paying tribute to the canine companion that he calls the “best TV buddy ever.”

Seven’s stint on “The Walking Dead” began in Season 9, originally the pet of the character Leah Shaw. In the wake of the character’s disappearance, Daryl adopts the dog as his own.

It was Reedus who reportedly pushed for his character to have a canine pal on the show.

You were a very good boy, Seven. May you rest in peace.
