This 3-Hour ‘Sam: The Soul of Halloween’ Video Brings the Perfect Halloween Ambience

Michael Dougherty’s Halloween icon Sam is back this October with all kinds of new tricks and treats under the Sam: The Soul of Halloween umbrella, a new multimedia project from Dougherty that gives Sam his own online home for the very first time.

Just in time for spooky season, new original Sam content is being released across Sam’s new website and social channels, including animated shorts, illustrations, artist collaborations, merchandise and other bite-sized glimpses into Sam’s peculiar corner of Halloween.

Dougherty invited a growing roster of talented artists to interpret Sam through their own creative voices. As a result, Sam will wander through wildly different styles, mediums and imaginations.

With less than 10 days to go before Halloween, Dougherty has released Graveyard Shift this week, a 3+ hour yule log type video that provides the kind of Halloween ambience we love to have running in the background while we write up articles here on Bloody Disgusting.

Dougherty previews, “The night is young. The dead are restless. And Sam has absolutely nowhere else he’d rather be. Pull up a tombstone and spend 3.1 hours in a moonlit graveyard with Halloween’s favorite little murder goblin. Watch the ghosts drift by, listen to the sounds of autumn, and enjoy a little peace and quiet among the dearly departed. Perfect for reading, writing, working, relaxing, carving pumpkins, or performing minor acts of necromancy. So dim the lights, hit that LOOP button, and stay awhile. The dead aren’t going anywhere.”
