This Upcoming Japanese ‘Alien’ Xenomorph Action Figure Can Be Posed Endless Ways
The aim of Good Smile Company’s “Figma” line is to put out highly articulated action figures of the characters we all love, and their focus is often on anime characters. But they’ve been known to step outside that box, and they’re doing just that with an incredibly detailed, mega-posable figure of the Alien franchise’s Xenomorph this year.
Designed and painted by sculptor Takayuki Takeya, the upcoming Figma Alien figure measures around 6″ tall, with the smooth yet posable figma joints allowing you to act out a variety of different scenes and poses. Other features include:
- A flexible plastic is used in specific areas, allowing proportions to be kept without compromising posability.
- The lower jaw can be opened, allowing the iconic inner mouth of the Alien to be extended outward.
- A Facehugger is included as an accessory. It includes both a straight and rounded tail to switch between.
- The Alien’s tail features articulation at the base, as well as at two points along the tail allowing for various poses.
- A postcard featuring Takayuki Takeya’s original design illustration is included with the figure.
- An articulated figma stand is included, which allows various poses to be taken.
The figure is now up for pre-order for $75.46, shipping in December 2018.
The official social media accounts for Scary Movie had recently teased a bong-shaped popcorn bucket, but unfortunately it seems that was just a gag. The actual official Scary Movie popcorn bucket has been revealed by Discussing Film this afternoon, and it’s a bit more practical.
The actual Scary Movie popcorn bucket you’ll be able to get in theaters is shaped like an old school phone, as seen in Wes Craven’s Scream as well as the original Scary Movie in 2000.
The Scary Movie Phone Popcorn Bucket glows in the dark, and it’s emblazoned with “WAZZUP!” on the side, a reference to a memorable moment from the 2000 movie.
A phone number has been set up as part of the movie’s marketing campaign this week, allowing you to call Marlon Wayans’ Shorty for a fun spoof of the retro Moviefone experience.

Scary Movie will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t. A whole lot has changed in the horror genre since the Wayans Brothers were in charge of the franchise; their involvement ended with Scary Movie 2 back in 2001!
