UPDATE: Not only is the NES version of Jason the real deal (you can place your pre-order at BigBadToyStore now), but so is the NES version of Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street!
So, it’s Friday the 13th. And NECA are up to their usual hijinks by casually dropping a hint that one of the upcoming figures in their new Toony Terrors line is none other than the classic NES version of Jason Voorhees from the 1989 Friday The 13th game!
NECA dropped the surprise by updating their Twitter picture this morning:
Now, this hasn’t officially been announced, and it’s still unclear if this figure falls under the lawsuit fiasco that’s halted NECA’s production of figures based on the film series. But come on, NECA wouldn’t string us along like that!
The first series of Toony Terrors figures is out now, and includes Jason, Freddy Krueger, Pennywise ’90 and Pennywise ’17. Wave 2 (so far) will include Pinhead, Leatherface and Michael Myers.
