NECA Heads Back to the ’90s With These Retro-Style ‘Alien’ and ‘Predator’ Toys
In recent years, NECA has been upgrading Kenner’s Aliens and Predator toys from the 90s by giving them modern day makeovers for today’s collectors, but their brand new “Alien & Predator Classics” collection takes the complete opposite approach. For the line, NECA is turning characters from the newer movies in both franchises into ’90s-style toys!
“These sturdy 5.5” figures evoke a simpler time when action figures were tossed in the bucket to go to the beach, or left strewn across the stairs for parents to trip over,” NECA notes.
The debut figures in the line are Berserker Predator, which has a removable mask, and Neomorph Alien, which comes with a baby Neomorph.

The official social media accounts for Scary Movie had recently teased a bong-shaped popcorn bucket, but unfortunately it seems that was just a gag. The actual official Scary Movie popcorn bucket has been revealed by Discussing Film this afternoon, and it’s a bit more practical.
The actual Scary Movie popcorn bucket you’ll be able to get in theaters is shaped like an old school phone, as seen in Wes Craven’s Scream as well as the original Scary Movie in 2000.
The Scary Movie Phone Popcorn Bucket glows in the dark, and it’s emblazoned with “WAZZUP!” on the side, a reference to a memorable moment from the 2000 movie.
A phone number has been set up as part of the movie’s marketing campaign this week, allowing you to call Marlon Wayans’ Shorty for a fun spoof of the retro Moviefone experience.
