“Animal Kingdom” Star to Appear in Syfy’s “Blood Drive”

Christina Ochoa, who can currently be seen in TNT’s drama “Animal Kingdom”, has signed on to appear as the female lead in Syfy’s upcoming grindhouse-inspired drama show “Blood Drive“, according to Deadline. She will be starring opposite Alan Ritchson (Teenage Mutan Ninja Turtles).

The site offers a lengthy explanation:

Set in a near-apocalyptic future in Los Angeles, Blood Drive centers on Arthur Bailey (Ritchson), a former cop who is now working for a private security company. He partners with a Grace (Ochoa), a dangerous femme fatale who has an agenda of her own.
Grace, who volunteered to participate in the deadly Blood Drive, an underground death race in which the cars run on human blood, needs the winnings to help her beloved sister, and she’s willing to face death on a daily basis for the mere chance of victory. When she’s forced to partner with former police officer Arthur, she’s not thrilled, to say the least. Grace may soon learn that this genuinely moral and nice guy is a determined survivor, just like she is and that she may have more in common with him than she had ever imagined.

“Blood Drive” will be directed by James Roland and features executive producers John Hlavin and David Straiton.
