“American Horror Story” Will Cross “Coven” and “Murder House” At Some Point

Published

“Murder House”, the first season of FX’s “American Horror Story“, is considered by many to be the strongest with the third season, “Coven”, being the next most beloved entry. Fans have long been digging into those seasons to study the various clues and mysteries in the hopes that more of the overall theme can be figured out. Earlier this month, show creator Ryan Murphy said that at some point the TV show would find a revisit “Coven”, although there was no revelation on how that would be done. Today, at a panel at EW’s PopFest Sunday, Murphy was questioned about this and let loose some more information that is quite fascinating!

Talking to moderator Tim Stack, Murphy explained, “We do know what we’re going to do. It’s not going to be next season, but we are going to do a season that’s a crossover between ‘Murder House’ and ‘Coven’ together, which is very bizarre. There will be characters from ‘Murder House’ and characters from ‘Coven’ together.

Murphy explained that due to scheduling, this exploration will not be the basis for the show’s seventh season. However, it’s something that is in the works and he is already approaching stars of the first season to see if they’ll be interested in returning for another round.

I’ve [already] started going to actors from both of the seasons, quietly, saying, ‘I think in this window, if you could fit us in.’” So yeah, it’s fun. It’s weird.

Although he didn’t confirm who he had approached, we can assume this will include Emma Roberts, who played in “Coven” and was in attendance at the panel, as well as Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott.

While you wait for Alien: Romulus, the folks over at Devilworks have cooked up their own slice of “mockbuster” fun with Alien Hunt, and we’re debuting the trailer here on BD this morning.

This brand-new sci-fi horror from director Aaron Mirtes (The Bigfoot Trap, Painted in Blood) is set for its US premiere on May 14, and you can find it on digital thanks to Devilworks.

You can exclusively watch the official trailer for Alien Hunt below, which looks to combine elements of Alien and Predator. This particular “mockbuster” has very little interest in hiding its inspirations, with the alien designs plucked straight out of H.R. Giger’s beautiful brain. Hey, if you’re going to pull from other movies, might as well take from the all-time greats!

In Alien Hunt, “On a hunting trip in the wilderness, a group of siblings discovers an abandoned military outpost on their land, but is it what it seems?

“Their trip takes a sinister turn when they find themselves facing off against a relentless army of extra-terrestrial beings. Suddenly, the hunters become the hunted.

“The formidable squad of alien soldiers will stop at nothing to wipe out the enemy and in an all-out, brutal battle for survival, it’s kill or be killed in Alien Hunt.”

Barron Boedecker (Escape Pod, The Bigfoot Trap), Brent Bentley (The Perfect In-Laws, Haunt Season), Deiondre Teagle (The Visitor, Painted in Blood, Death Ranch), Chelsey Fuller (The Bigfoot Trap, The Silent Natural), Jesse Santoyo (A Nashville Country Christmas, Potter’s Ground), and Adam Pietripaoli (The Bigfoot Trap, The OctoGames) star.
