We’re finally hitting the road in the second season of AMC’s critically-acclaimed, supernatural series “Preacher”, which will return on Monday, June 19th at 9:00 P.M. ET/PT. The expanded second season, consisting of 13 episodes, is a genre-bending thrill ride that follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
Season One’s twist was that it was a prequel to Garth Ennis’ comic series, setting the trio off on a road trip that’s going to be littered in bullets and brains, especially at the hands of the Saint of Killers, who has been tasked to hunt them down and return Genesis to Heaven. But that won’t stop the best friends club from having a good time as they hunt down God, who presumably has abandoned his post. Jesse wants to make him answer for his betrayal. The first season was vastly different from the comics, which means me wonder what other big changes are down the road. Whatever they may be, I feel blessed to have this on television.
