Ridley Scott Curating Block of Original Sci-fi Programming for TNT

Published

Might we see an Alien TV series? That’d be cool. But probably not.

The small screen is the place where talented filmmakers can truly run wild at the moment, so it makes sense that Ridley Scott has eagerly accepted an offer to work with TNT on bringing all kinds of original sci-fi content to the table.

We’ve just learned that Scott will be developing a block that will serve as a showcase for programming in a variety of formats.

Said Scott himself:

Being given the creative license to generate and develop science fiction programming in a variety of formats for TNT is very exciting. This genre is one of my favorites, and there are an infinite amount of original and innovative story ideas out there that we are looking forward to exploring with TNT. It is very exciting for all of us.

Sarah Aubrey, TNT’s VP of original programming, added:

We’re looking to create a programming block filled with the kind of imaginative, awe-inspiring storytelling that has made science fiction such a beloved and enduring genre. Ridley Scott has created some of the best and most popular science-fiction movies of all time, and we look forward to bringing his fans even more of his smart, sophisticated stories.

Scott Free Productions will produce the block in association with Turner’s Studio T, with Scott and David W. Zucker (“The Man in the High Castle”) serving as executive producers and Jordan Sheehan and Clayton Krueger as co-executive producers.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.
