The biggest news out of the New York Comic-Con was that Starz’s “Ash vs. Evil Dead” Season 3 would finally premiere Sunday, February 25, 2018. With that news came the first ever look at Ash’s long-lost daughter, played by Arielle Carver-O’Neill.
Bruce Campbell, Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, Arielle Carver-O’Neill, and Lindsay Farris took the stage to discuss the forthcoming season, which they promise carries a scene that will top the deadite colon fight from Season 2.
During the fan Q+A, the cast was asked how they keep the new episodes fresh. “How can top what we did the episode before?,” Santiago challenged. Campbell then alluded to “The Morgue” episode, explaining, “Once you put your head up a cadaver’s butt, where do you go from there?” DeLorenzo then chimed in:
“The writers keep out-doing themselves every season, and speaking of colons, there’s something even more disgusting – gag-worthy/hilarious at the same time than there was (last season) – I did not think you could top a fight with a colon, but we do (in) season 3.”
The second season of “Ash vs Evil Dead” was absolutely bonkers and knowing they’re going to top it puts a huge smile on my face.
“The third season finds Ash’s status in Elk Grove, Michigan has changed from murderous urban legend to humanity-saving hometown hero. When Kelly witnesses a televised massacre with Ruby’s fingerprints all over it, she returns with a new friend to warn Ash and Pablo that evil isn’t done with them yet. Blood is thicker than water in the battle of good vs Evil Dead!”
The wickedly gore-filled series stars Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams, the chainsaw-wielding anti-hero tasked with saving the world from evil; Lucy Lawless as Ruby, the unpredictable foe and occasional ally who has strong ties to the origin of the “Necronomicon;” Ray Santiago plays Pablo Simon Bolivar, Ash’s loyal sidekick and eternal optimist; and Dana DeLorenzo returns as Kelly Maxwell, orphaned in Season One and ready to kick some evil ass.
The Evil Dead original filmmakers Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell serve as executive producers on Season Three along with Ivan Raimi and Rick Jacobson. Mark Verheiden serves as Showrunner with Producer Moira Grant.
