“The X-Files” has invaded FOX who has begun airing promotional trailers for the eleventh season that bring back stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny as Scully and Fox, respectively, as they battle the NWO and massive alien conspiracy. The new footage shows all sorts of action, as well as new monsters that will appear in “canned” episodes.
EW recently previewed the first three episodes…
“After episode one delves into the Cigarette Smoking Man’s (William B. Davis) backstory and apparent family ties to Mulder, the second hour opens with a time jump to put distance between Mulder and Scully and the events of the premiere. And episode three is a darkly comedic hour, penned by Carter, focusing on doubles and doppelgängers.”
They continued, “But beyond the humor, the larger mythology of The X-Files — like the fallout from Scully’s abduction and the chip that was implanted in her neck — continues to shape Mulder and Scully’s world.”
Most of Season 11 will be devoted to “monster of the week” episodes.
Mitch Pileggi, Annabeth Gish and Barbara Hershey are confirmed for the new season.
