Kevin Bacon Returns to Chang’s Market in More “Tremors” Pilot Images

This week has been both a good and bad one for fans of the Tremors franchise. On the positive side, the Michael Gross-starring Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell was released this past Tuesday, and it’s another fun sequel in a series that really never stopped being fun. On the bad side, Syfy killed their Kevin Bacon-led “Tremors” TV series.

The pilot episode of the planned series, directed by Vincenzo Natali (Splice), was filmed last year, and photos have been hitting social media in the wake of the sad news. These latest couple set photos come courtesy of actor PJ Byrne, who starred in the pilot – they show Bacon and the cast/crew in front of Chang’s Market, an iconic franchise locale.

Byrne tweeted, “Mind blowing experience acting in the TV Version of my favorite childhood movie with the master himself @kevinbacon. Sadly, I’m not sure the world will ever see #Tremors. But I’m super honored to have danced with these wonderful peeps… this cast and crew crushed it! Xoxo

No word yet on when, or even if, we’ll be seeing the pilot.

The series was set to pick up 25 years after the killer Graboid worms nearly destroyed the Nevada town of Perfection. Bacon was to reprise the role of Valentine McKee, who beat the sandworms once and would attempt to do it again; but first he’d have to deal with age, alcohol and a delusional hero complex.
