Mark Hamill Joins ‘Twisted Metal’ Season 3 Cast

Peacock has renewed “Twisted Metal” for an upcoming third season, and Deadline reports this week that acting legend Mark Hamill has boarded the series for the brand new season.

The outlet reports, “Deadline can reveal exclusively that Mark Hamill will play Pope Charlie Kane, the leader of the Eastern Sovereignty and estranged father of Sweet Tooth.”

The news was first reported by Jeff Sneider in his newsletter The InSneider.

“For Mark Hamill to come into this world with us is amazing. He’s someone I’ve admired for a long time — a true legend who’s influenced generations of actors. Being able to now call him a castmate is an incredible honor, and we’re excited to see what he brings to the world of Twisted Metal,” executive producer and star Anthony Mackie said in a statement.

David Reed (“The Boys,” “The Magicians”) will serve as showrunner and executive producer for Season 3. He replaces co-creator Michael Jonathan Smith, who’s exiting the show.

Based on the classic PlayStation video game series, the high-octane action-comedy series was developed by Michael Jonathan Smith, Rhett Reese, and Paul Wernick.

In Season 1, which premiered in 2023, motor-mouthed outsider John is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of badass axe-wielding car thief Quiet, John faces savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road.

In Season 2, John and Quiet find themselves entering the deadly Twisted Metal tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso. As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface.

Season 2’s finale saw John and Quiet prepare to take on Calypso after he framed them for murdering the spectators at the tournament, starting a war between Insiders and Outsiders.

Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett, and Anthony Carrigan also star.
