We’re two days away from the premiere of Hulu’s J.J. Abrams-produced “Castle Rock,“ a television series set in the Stephen King Universe, and we just learned something incredibly interesting about the show. Revealed in a character breakdown over on EW, Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe star Jane Levy is playing a character named… Jackie Torrance?!
“The quippy, sarcastic, and inquisitive Jackie is the self-appointed “historian” of Castle Rock, who also happens to be very into the macabre,” EW describes the character, whose name strongly suggests a connection to Jack Torrance, of course from King’s The Shining. But is Jackie Torrance actually related to Jack, or is the name merely a fun Easter egg nod?
Speaking with MTV, Levy suggests that it’s more than mere homage.
“Jackie, my character, brushes up very closely to a famous King character,” Levy just told MTV, clearly dancing around a full-on reveal that’d spoil the fun.
