We’ve got some new details on the third season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” from an interview with producer Shawn Levy that was conducted by Italian website Bad TV, which indicate that the hotly anticipated Season 3 will be the largest in scope we’ve yet seen.
Thanks to rough translations, here’s what we learned.
“I can tell you that we are working on the third season very quickly, and I can also tell you that it is by far the most ambitious season ever made,” Levy told the site. “And I want to underline it: it is by far the most ambitious! We are on another level.”
He continued, “I can not go into the specifics but as you saw the second season has become more cinematic, much more based on the characters than the first and this evolution will continue with the third. It will be the season with more action than all.”
Levy also teased a heavy John Carpenter influence on Season 3, noting “There will be very much the ghost of John Carpenter and other ’80s horror directors.”
Season 3 is set during the Summer of 1985, likely arriving in Summer 2019.
