Syfy Just Cancelled the Excellent Horror Anthology Series “Channel Zero”

Published

After four seasons, we’re incredibly bummed to report this morning, Syfy has pulled the plug on one of their all time best projects, the horror anthology series “Channel Zero.

The extremely depressing news comes to us direct from creator Nick Antosca, who writes over on Instagram, “After 4 seasons, Channel Zero is no more at SYFY. I loved making this show and I would have loved to do more… but I can’t complain too much about doing 4 stories I loved with people who I loved working with. People like our writers, our actors, our extraordinary crew, the artists who contributed, our editors and post team, our composer Jeff Russo, our team at Syfy and UCP. And especially the four awesome directors, Craig Macneill, Steven Piet, Arkasha Stevenson, and Evan Katz.”

He continued, “And before all that, the authors of the original creepypasta stories. Kris Straub, Brian Russell, Kerry Hammond, and Charlotte Bywater. I’m deeply grateful for this experience. Especially to everybody who watched and talked about and wrote about the show. There are stories we didn’t get to tell and creatures you didn’t get to see, but still might. 🍽🐈 Meanwhile, the first 3 seasons are currently on @shudder, and the 4th season will be soon. Enjoy.”

Each season of “Channel Zero” was a standalone offering, based on a Creepypasta tale. The debut season “Candle Cove” was followed up by “No-End House,” “Butcher’s Block” and “Dream Door.” Syfy isn’t exactly known for dishing out quality (original) horror programming, but these last few years, “Channel Zero” proved to be one of the best horror shows on TV.

Sadly, it seems the audience just wasn’t there. It’s “Hannibal” and “Ash vs. Evil Dead” all over again, friends. Here’s hoping Shudder takes on “Channel Zero” as their own.

“Chucky” – Official Trailer for This Week’s New Episode Brings Brad Dourif into the White House!

Just two episodes remain in Season 3 of “Chucky,” with the second-to-last episode airing this Wednesday night on USA & SYFY. It’s titled “There Will Be Blood,” and oh yes there will be.

Last week’s episode was absolutely INSANE, with Chucky taking control of the situation room in the White House and attempting to start World War 3. His plan was thwarted, but not before nuking the North Pole. In the wake of launching that missile, Chucky met the true death, his doll body disintegrating into ash like he got Thanos snapped out of existence.

The episode ended with an appearance from Brad Dourif as Charles Lee Ray in his human form, with his spirit now free from the doll and roaming around the haunted White House.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for this week’s episode: “Parapsychologists investigate the disturbances in the White House, while Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) plans her escape.”

“There Will Be Blood” airs Wednesday, April 24 on USA and SYFY. Reversing a new plan they tested out last week, we’re told the episode will be available on Peacock this Thursday.

Watch the trailer below to preview this week’s bloody new episode!
