Created by Steven Spielberg, “Amazing Stories” premiered on NBC in September ’85, and it featured horror, sci-fi and fantasy tales directed by legends like Bob Clark, Joe Dante, Martin Scorsese, Tom Holland, Tobe Hooper, and even Spielberg himself.
As we recently learned, Apple is rebooting “Amazing Stories” for modern audiences, and Spielberg announced today that the series will be part of Apple’s new Apple TV+ service.
Apple TV+ aims to be “the destination for the highest-quality originals,” and Spielberg says that the first season of “Amazing Stories” will be “a single thematic experience.”
The Verge details, “Apple TV Plus will be ad free, available on demand, and viewable both online and offline. Apple plans to launch it in over 100 countries sometime this fall, though it did not disclose pricing today. But you’ll access Apple TV Plus through the redesigned Apple TV app on iOS, Mac, Roku, Fire TV, and televisions from various manufacturers.”
“Once Upon a Time” creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz will serve as exec producers and showrunners for Apple’s new “Amazing Stories.”
The series, from Universal TV and Amblin Television, will transport us to worlds of wonder through the lens of today’s most imaginative filmmakers, directors and writers.
“Amazing Stories” is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz.
