The first season of Hulu’s “Castle Rock” made a very brief pit stop in the fictional town of Jerusalem’s Lot, a town 24 miles away from Castle Rock. Of course, Jerusalem’s Lot is the setting of Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot, a small Maine town terrorized in the tale by vampire Kurt Barlow. And it looks like we’ll be seeing more of the town in the next season.
As reported by the Greenfield Recorder, filming is now underway on Season 2 of “Castle Rock,” which is once again turning the town of Orange, Massachusetts into the town that has appeared and been mentioned in several Stephen King stories. The site notes that the nearby town of Gardner has also been transformed for Season 2… into Jerusalem’s Lot!
The site adds, “According to Hulu spokeswoman Yasamin Azarakhsh, Season 2 involves a conflict between the neighboring towns.”
Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption) will be returning to the world of Stephen King in Season 2, alongside Lizzy Caplan (Cloverfield) and Elsie Fisher (Eighth Grade).
Caplan is playing iconic Misery character Annie Wilkes!
Series regulars also include Yusra Warsama, Barkhad Abdi, Matthew Alan, John Hoogenakker and Paul Sparks.
In Season 2, a feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes, Stephen King’s nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock.
“Castle Rock” is produced by J.J. Abrams.
Sam Shaw & Dustin Thomason developed the series for Hulu.
