What would be the most exciting possible direction for the next season of “True Detective”? If you’re asking me, it’d be bringing back Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson to reprise the roles of Rust Cohle and Marty Hart for a direct sequel to the standout first season, which ended with partners Cohle and Hart surviving and triumphing over pure evil.
Could that be what creator Nic Pizzolatto has in mind for Season 4? Maybe? Hopefully?
Speaking with Indiewire, Pizzolatto just teased his “exciting” hopes for the fourth season.
“I had this idea, and to me, I think it’s a really strong idea, and it would be something I’ve never seen on television before,” Pizzolatto told the site. “But since then, I’ve had another idea that I’ve talked about with an actor, and that, to me, would be the most exciting thing we could do with True Detective.”
He added, “I think it would be really great for the fans. I just don’t know if we’re going to get to do it.”
