The third season of “Stranger Things” has had some of the coolest tie-in partnerships we’ve ever seen, with Nike finding “lost” shipments of shoes from 1985, Baskin Robbins transforming into the Starcourt Mall’s shop Scoops Ahoy, and Coca-Cola bringing back New Coke for a limited time. What’s next? Well, Burger King has made a “Stranger Things” burger!
The “Upside Down Whopper” is quite literally served to you… Upside Down!
As Ad Week reveals today, and this is a bit of a bummer, “the Upside Down Whopper will only be sold in 11 locations, a reference to Eggo-munching and butt-kicking protagonist Eleven.”
The limited edition burger, a partnership with Coca-Cola and Netflix, will be served upside down at select BK locations on June 21. The following cities are taking part:
- Miami
- Houston
- Boston
- Atlanta
- Philadelphia
- Dallas
- Chicago
- San Francisco
- Los Angeles
- New York
Similar to the current Baskin Robbins takeover, the participating restaurants will also be selling limited edition “Stranger Things” T-shirts, crowns, ketchup packets and pins.
